Metro Printing Industries Have Jobs Open Now!
Students Enjoy All The New Equipment.

We are the headquarters of Printing Education in the state of Minnesota. As the Metro Center of Excellence for Printing Education HTC represents the most current technology available. We are pleased to welcome all of our new students into the greatest skilled trade career in the world, PRINTING! Minnesota's second largest industry, printing employees 60,000 people. The high technology, the creativity and the pay continue to draw students.

Our students are enjoying their encounters with the new equipment updates. The computer labs contain 24 new high speed dual processor Macs. The new Macs are networked on our new ultra high speed fiber optic network connecting over 120 online student work stations. Continuing updates in digital proofing and plate imaging equipment continue to keep us on the cutting edge of technology. Printing education, that's what we're all about!

Heidelberg Invades the Press Room!
Just 16 Weeks to a Skilled Trade Job in Minnesota's 2nd Largest Industry!

The Heidelberg Corporation and it's local representative, Mark Carlson, has made the HTC Press Room a full Heidelberg shop. With the acquisition of the single color and multi-color Heidelberg presses, we now offer industry level courses in press training. Keith Zwack, our Heidelberg trained press instructor can start students every 4 weeks during the school year. Students can complete the program in only 16 weeks and are prepared for entry level jobs in the press / bindery industry. Current job placement is near 100% in this exciting high paying field. HTC thanks the Heidelberg Corporation, and all of the local printing industry for it's full support and help in making this possible.

Our newest addition to our machine area is a new Heidelberg DI digital 4 Color press. We image the cylinders right from our prepress department. Also a new MBO Navigator system has been installed in our bindery. We match industry technology and than some! You'll be trained on the newest and the best!
 
CREO Corporation, $200,000 + Donation!

The Creo Corporation, one of the largest Prepress manufactures in the world of software and equipment, has given it's full support to HTC. With the help of our local Creo representative Dave Sinner and Japs Olson Printing, the HTC prepress program now provides state of the art training. The Creo Prinergy Workflow system is installed on 21 modern dual processor Mac computers. Full trapping and imposition ability is now available for all prepress students. The Creo donation includes the Creo Integris proofing system, 21 Prinergy fully equipped work stations and the full Creo server system. HTC prepress students now enter the prepress printing market with skills that can be found any place else. This fantastic donation was achieved with the help of Japs Olson printing. It's President Michael Murphy and Plant Manager Chris Ilya played key rolls in assisting HTC.

Donates Kodak Approval System

Impressions Inc., one of the major printing companies in the metro area has made a full donation to the HTC prepress program of a Kodak Approval Digital Proofing system. Out put from the high end prepress computer systems can now be digitally color proofed. Students learning the system are trained for jobs using the same equipment used in industry. The Kodak Corporation is assisting with the donation by providing free assistance and support. Our thanks go to Mark Jorgenson, owner of Impressions Inc. and to John Houston, prepress manager and former HTC student. Industry donations such as this show the full support and backing that we have in our program.
